Our goal is to meet the most stringent economic, social, and ecological demands by focusing on environmental impact, product safety, and sustainability

3A Composites USA is committed to both maximizing the life of our products and the ethics involved at the end of product life through adherence to ISO standards.

  • We are continuously identifying new ways to reduce or eliminate waste in our products through the lens of circular economy and environmental stewardship.
  • Our goal is to meet the most stringent economic, social, and ecological demands by focusing on environmental impact, product safety, and sustainability.
  • After many years of use, our products remain fully recyclable and can be reintroduced to the material cycle.

Environmental Product Declaration

ALUCOBOND has an environmental product declaration (EPD) according to International ISO standards. The “ecological footprint” is examined by an independent third party. The EPD provides information on the environmental impact and implications of the product, such as energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) or water consumption. The document serves as proof for the sustainability certification of buildings.

Life Cycle Assessments

An LCA demonstrates the environmental impacts resulting from the construction, use and demolition of a building. The calculation can determine how much energy is necessary to produce the building materials used and to operate the building over its expected useful life.

  • ALUCOBOND products are manufactured with a focused consideration on environmental stewardship, product safety, and sustainability.
  • Commitment to sustainability is integral to the design of ALUCOBOND products.
  • Our material is 100% recyclable, ensuring that our products can be reintroduced into the market at end of use.

LEED Certification
USGBC-member

The LEED program has gained much recognition over the past several years and is now the premier sustainability design tool in the building industry.

LEED focuses on constructing buildings that have minimal impact on the environment during construction, occupation and reclamation, and recognizes that utilizing recycled materials is an important part of minimizing environmental impact.

The relatively high percentage of recycled aluminum ensures that ALUCOBOND PLUS can provide a significant contribution to earning LEED points. This recognition is the driving force for using ALUCOBOND PLUS material.

Recycling & VOC Rating

ALUCOBOND is a 100% recyclable material, meaning the core material and the aluminum skins can be returned to the material cycle and reused for the production of new products.

  • The high intrinsic value of aluminum is a major economic incentive for its recycling.
  • Aluminum scrap can be repeatedly recycled without lessening its value or diminishing its properties.
  • The energy used in recycling is a mere fraction of primary production requirements, often as little as 5%, yielding obvious ecological benefits.

Minimal amounts of VOC’s or HAP’s are released during the manufacturing process due to strict programs and processes designed to capture and destroy pollutants that are emitted.

ISO 14001/45001 Compliance

Adherence to ISO performance standards signifies a commitment to rigorous Environmental, Health, and Safety standards and regulations as both are considered the gold standards when it comes to measuring and demonstrating EHS management. 3A Composites USA is committed to both maximizing the life of our products and the ethics involved at the end of the product life cycle through adherence to the ISO 14001 & 45001 standards.

Lower Energy Consumption

The proportion of aluminum used in the production of ALUCOBOND is much lower than that of solid sheet. This significantly reduces energy consumption for the production of one square foot without sacrificing rigidity.

Waste Reduction Initiatives

There are several continuous improvement initiatives that are ongoing with the goal of reducing our ecological footprint through the reduction and recycling of waste generated including solvents and paints, aluminum dust, and even our wooden material pallets. 3A Composites USA is continuously identifying new ways to reduce or eliminate waste in our products through the lens of circular economy and environmental stewardship.
